Flinders University Cancer Exercise and Physical Activity Service
A tailored exercise and physical activity program to help manage side effects of cancer and improve overall health.

Flinders Health2Go Physiotherapy
Student-led physiotherapy service supervised by qualified experts. Helps manage:
Neck and back pain
Post-operative recovery
Mobility issues

Flinders Health2Go Diabetes Service
Support for people at risk of developing diabetes or those already diagnosed, delivered by qualified diabetes nurses and educators.

Service provided by qualified Clinical Psychologist and supervised Psychology students to support cancer survivors and/or partners/carers affected by cancer experiencing emotional, or mental health difficulties.
Clinical psychology sessions available to adults >18 yeas old who are people currently going through treatment, survivors and/or partners/carers affected by cancer.
Who can use the service: Adults in the SALHN catchment area over the age of 18 who are people currently going through treatment, survivors and/or partners/carers affected by cancer.
Referral process: SALHN/Flinders Medical Centre staff can refer people to the service.
Cost and location: No cost to patient. Sessions held at Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer or telehealth appointments.
Physiotherapy Fatigue Exercise Classes
12-week exercise program either face to face at Flinders Medical Centre or telehealth. The program is designed for current Flinders Medical Centre cancer patients, during, pre or post treatment. The classes aim to improve strength, fitness and/or functional goals.
Who can use the service: Current Flinders Medical Centre patients diagnosed with cancer.
Referral process: SALHN/Flinders Medical Centre staff can refer people to the service.
Cost and location: No cost to patient. Sessions held at Flinders Medical Centre or online.
Telephone social work support for assistance/advice with links to supports such as support groups, and financial and legal assistance programs/resources.
Who can use the service: Current Flinders Medical Centre patients diagnosed with cancer.
Referral process: SALHN/Flinders Medical Centre staff can refer people to the service.
Cost and location: No cost to patient. Phone support only.
A cancer focussed rehabilitation service that offers personalised rehabilitation program, designed around each patient's goals and provided by a team of healthcare professionals, offered at Flinders Medical Centre.
Who can use the service: People living in the SALHN catchment area or current Flinders Medical Centre patients with cancer who have multi-disciplinary needs.
Referral process: SALHN/Flinders Medical Centre staff can refer people to the service.
Cost and location: No cost to patient. Sessions at Flinders Medical Centre.
Southern Adelaide Palliative Service (SAPS)
For people diagnosed and living with a life limiting or terminal illness, palliative care helps people to live life as fully and comfortably as possible. A range of services are offered to support patients and the important people in their lives. The main goals of the care control symptoms, maximise function, maintain quality of life and provide comfort.
Who can use this service: People with cancer living in Southern Adelaide and the important people in their lives.
Referral process: SALHN/Flinders Medical Centre staff and your GP can refer people to the service.
Cost and location: No cost to patient if they have Medicare (except some medications). Services can be provided in the outpatient clinic setting or in the patient’s home, depending on patient need and mobility.
